Parent Involvement within the UCDSB
The Upper Canada District School Board values parent and guardian involvement in education. There are many ways parents and guardians can get involved with their child's learning journey.
Parent Involvement Committee
This is a board-wide group of UCDSB parents that serve to support, encourage and enhance parent engagement at the board level, in order to improve student achievement and well-being. UCDSB-PIC members also provide parental input on future policies for the Director and the Board of Trustees, as well as providing support to all UCDSB School Councils. School Councils
Your involvement in the school council gives you the opportunity to strengthen that partnership, and to be part of a dedicated team working to ensure a high quality of education and an accountable education system for the children of Ontario. Learn more about School Councils.
Parent Volunteering
Whether it's helping with a breakfast program or reading with students, our family volunteers are an integral part of our school communities. Currently, our schools are not able to invite volunteers into our schools due to COVID-19 protocols.
Special Education Advisory Committee
The Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) is a long standing committee of the Upper Canada District School Board and is governed by the provisions established by the Ministry of Education. The committee recommends to the Board on matters regarding establishment, development and deliverance of special education programs and services for exceptional students of the Board.
