The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) encourages students to care for their mental health at all times - not just during the school day. A wide range of supports, initiatives, and resources are available for students.

We all have mental health!

Just as we care for our physical health, we need to attend to our mental health to ensure we stay well in the face of challenges. Many practices that help us to feel physically well also lead to improved mental health like ensuring we get enough sleep, eating a balanced diet and exercising. We can also work to develop and improve social and emotional skills to help ourselves thrive!

What is Social-Emotional Learning?

Social-Emotional Learning is the development of skills that help us be more self-aware and better able to manage difficult emotions and situations. Social and emotional skill building also contributes to success in relationships and improved ability to solve problems.
