The Grade 9 dance students at Tagwi Secondary School closed off their Quadmester 1 Dance course recently with a virtual dance tour and workshops for kindergarten to Grade 2 students. The class had 15 other classes join to watch the virtual performances and participate in the workshops.
The group performed a line dance, a cha cha, a meringue, a danced based on the story of Orange Shirt Day, and a Scottish highland dance and hip-hop piece which were both choreographed by a student in the class. They also performed a hand jive to the classic song, Footloose. Students also performed personal compositions.
The class was led by teacher Gisele Paquette and the students include Topagana Archambault, Grace Gauthier, William Hess, Savanna James, Isabel Lacombe, Nora Marion, Sicily Prieur, Addison Russell, Katelin Tripp-Killeen, Olivia Verslus, Maddison Hamelin, and Jennah Campbell.
For many of the dancers, this was their first dance recital!
