The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) is committed to providing accessible and inclusive learning and working environments and providing services to our families that are also barrier and bias-free.
We strive to meet the needs and improve opportunities for our employees, students, and community members with disabilities and are committed to meeting the requirements set out for us in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
Accessibility Plan
Our Multi-Year Accessibility Plan is guided by our policies, and in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the Ontario Integrated Accessibilities Standards.
Our plan describes our commitment to accessibility planning and the actions we are taking to remove and prevent physical, digital and ideological barriers within our system.

Accessibility Policies and Procedures
Here are the policies and procedures related to accessibility in the UCDSB.
Request Alternative Formats of Communication or Documents
The UCDSB is committed to providing /arranging for accessible formats and communications supports for persons with disabilities, on request. The ability to provide accessible formats applies to information and communications that are owned directly by the board and/or schools.
Should an individual make a request for an accessible format, the board and/or school will consult with the person to determine their accessibility needs. This will ensure the appropriate support is provided, and in a timely manner.
Requests can be sent to [email protected] or made by phone (1-800-267-7131) and requesting to be directed to the office of the Accessibility Committee.
Accessibility Advisory Committee
The Accessibility Advisory Committee was formed to advise on the preparation, implementation, and effectiveness of the Multi-Year Accessibility Plan.
The committee reviews and advises on accessibility issues relating to board facilities and services and other accessibility related issues within UCDSB buildings.
Provide Feedback
The UCDSB is committed to reviewing and responding to accessibility feedback in a timely and respectful manner. Feedback collected through this process will be reviewed regularly and used to:
- Identify and remove barriers;
- improve accessibility practices; and
- support the development of accessibility plans and progress reports
Any personal information shared as part of the feedback process will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.
Information will only be used for the purpose of responding to feedback and improving accessibility.
Feedback related to accessibility may be submitted in a variety of ways to ensure accessibility for all individuals.
