For the second year in a row, the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) has seen an increase in EQAO scores in reading, writing and math across all grades. The UCDSB is the only school district in the province to see improvements in all eight categories two years in a row.

Students from three Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) schools helped set a new world record in sport stacking, better known as cup stacking — an activity where participants stack specially designed cups in predetermined sequences as quickly as possible.

Kate Fawthrop’s Grade 6 class at Longue Sault Public School (LSPS) is teaming up with a local business, Ground Soap, to design and sell a custom soap that will raise funds for a Bathroom Beautification Project at their school.

Students at Oxford-on-Rideau Public School are turning a nearby tributary into their very own outdoor classroom through the Kemptville Creek Inquiry Project. The immersive project has the Grade 1/2 class exploring the waterway with biweekly visits, where they investigate seasonal changes, study the habitat, and observe and document the array of living things that call the creek home.

The UCDSB will be hosting two online information sessions, designed to help parents/guardians with students in SK to Grade 2 understand the Acadience Reading screening and results.

Lawn bowling and teenagers? That might not sound like a good match, but a recent Try-It Festival for Grade 7 and 8 students at Almonte District High School proved otherwise. Lawn bowling was one of five sports that the students were introduced to during the festival on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

What began as a classroom project has turned into a thriving student-led business at South Grenville District High School (SGDHS). During the 2024–25 school year, Grade 7 students launched an ambitious Real-World Learning (RWL) initiative — a custom apparel venture they named Giants Ink.
