Mental Health & Social-Emotional Learning Resources for Students
The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) encourages all students to look after their mental health 24/7 and is not just limited to school. The UCDSB has a variety of supports, initiatives, and resources available to students.
We all have mental health!
Just as we care for our physical health, we need to attend to our mental health to ensure we stay well in the face of challenges. Many practices that help us to feel physically well also lead to improved mental health like ensuring we get enough sleep, eating a balanced diet and exercising. We can also work to develop and improve social and emotional skills to help ourselves thrive!
What is Social-Emotional Learning?
Social-Emotional Learning is the development of skills that help us be more self-aware and better able to manage difficult emotions and situations. Social and emotional skill building also contributes to success in relationships and improved ability to solve problems.
