Email and Microsoft 365

Your UCDSB account gives you free access to email and to Microsoft 365 — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and Teams — at school and at home, on your own devices.

It is all one account. The same email address and password sign you in to everything.

What you get

  • Email: a UCDSB email account with 100 GB of storage.

  • OneDrive: 1,000 GB (1 TB) of secure online file storage. Your work saves automatically, so you can start an assignment on one device and finish it on another.

  • Microsoft 365 apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and Teams, in your browser or installed on your own computer.

Start here: My.UCDSB.ca

Go to http://my.ucdsb.ca and sign in with your UCDSB email address and password.

This is the one address to remember. It takes you straight to your email, and from there you can reach every other Microsoft 365 app without typing another address.

We recommend bookmarking it.

Getting to your other apps — the waffle

Once you are in your email, look for the waffle in the top-left corner of the page — the square made up of nine small dots.

Select the waffle and a menu opens listing your apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, OneNote, Teams and more. Choose one and it opens in your browser.

The waffle appears in every Microsoft 365 app, not just Outlook, so you can jump between apps from anywhere without going back to the start.

Troubleshooting

Good to know

  • Your email and Microsoft 365 access are provided through your UCDSB student account. When you leave the board, the apps switch to read-only mode and you will no longer be able to edit files. Save anything you want to keep before you go.

  • Uninstall any older version of Office before installing, to avoid conflicts.

  • UCDSB does not provide support for personal devices. We are not able to troubleshoot personal computers, home internet, or other software on your device.
