Reach Ahead Online Program
Students who are currently in Grade 8-12 are benefiting from the UCDSB's Summer Semester Secondary Online Reach Ahead Credit Program, operated by the TR Leger School. The program is offering grade 9-12 courses online that students can work anytime and anywhere they have access to the internet, earning themselves a NEW credit over the month of July. We highly encourage students to log in daily as these courses are only offered for a 4 week period. Students must have access to a computer and internet.
Credit Recovery Program
Student in Grade 9-12 can participate in obtaining a credit in a course they were previously unsuccessful in during the last two years through the Credit Recovery Program. Please see your UCDSB guidance counsellor.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING DETAILS FOR ONLINE SUMMER SEMESTER COURSES:
Summer courses at Upper Canada DSB are set up as independent study with a marker model so there are no online or face-to-face meetings. Online markers are qualified teachers who provide assessment of submitted assignments with descriptive and informative feedback.
Should students need more information, there are also a set of Orientation Videos (found on the course homepages) which help students learn to navigate the course and quizzes, use the course email to connect with online teacher/marker, and submit assignments.
This means that students can access the course at any time and work through the lessons as quickly as they wish as long as all lessons are competed by the deadline.
Upper Canada DSB Summer Semester program is further supported by three Coordinators who can assist students and parents with communication between student and online teacher/marker, technical issues, course content problems, instructions for course navigation, etc. They can be reached at any time by emailing [email protected]
