The Upper Canada District School Board celebrated Family Literacy Day on Thursday, January 27 with announcing the winners of the Family Literacy Day book giveaway.
The contest was open to UCDSB students and their immediate family members and they could enter the draw by commenting their family's favourite book or author on the UCDSB's post on social media.
The books, which were all written by Indigenous authors, were split up into two different draws - Elementary and Secondary. Two names were drawn for each category.
Elementary Winners:
Natalie Andrews - Longue Sault Public School
Alyssa Jackson - Rockland Public School
Secondary Winners:
Lauren Gordon - Gananoque Secondary School
Jesslynnethomas (instagram) - Rockland Public School
Students will be presented with their book prize pack over the coming weeks.
