Homework Help - Provincial Mathematics Tutoring
All Grade 4 to 12 mathematics students in the UCDSB have access to free, online tutoring and resources through the TVO Learn Mathify website.
TV Ontario, together with the Ministry of Education, has expanded math help services for all Ontario math students by offering free, on-line math help and support for students and families.
Once registered on the website, students can access free and confidential, live, online help in math from certified Ontario Math teachers.
Tutors are online Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, and on Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Tutorials, course materials and other resources are also available 24/7.
Some features of TVO Learn Mathify:
- No appointments necessary. Students simply connect with a tutor during Mathify times when they have a math question.
- Chat/messages and audio options are also available to discuss math concepts.
- No video cameras are used, and students and teacher do not share personal information. This is a safe and secure site. Usernames are used.
- Students can use Mathify to get math homework help, prepare for tests, get clarity on math concepts and to visually sketch out their math solution with a tutor.
- A shared whiteboard space is used so that students and tutors can work on math questions together. Common whiteboard tools are used.
- Sessions are recorded and saved so that students can review the information at a later date (studying for a test).
