Summer Learning Options

Within the UCDSB, there are two summer learning paths for UCDSB students. There is the Summer Learning Program, which is for Kindergarten to Grade 8 students to enhance their literacy and math skills, and there is the Summer Semester Program, which is eLearning initiatives for Grade 7-12 students to reach ahead or earn diploma credits over the summer. 

K-6 Summer Learning Program

This program runs from 9:00 a.m. - 12 p.m., Monday to Friday, from July 5 to July 23. It is being provided in an online format with synchronous (real time) teacher-led instruction for 2.5 hours a day. Students will engage in literacy, math, coding activities and Indigenous education each morning for the duration of the program. Get more information and sign up here.

7-12 Summer Semester Programs

Reach Ahead Online Program

Students in Grades 7-12 are have the opportunity to take part in the  Summer Semester Secondary New Reach Ahead Credit Program, operated by the TR Leger School of Adult, Alternative and Continuing Education. The program offers 54 courses online that students can work on anytime and anywhere they have access to the internet, earning themselves a NEW credit over the month of July. Full information about the program can be found here.

Credit Upgrade Program

Students in Grades 9-12 can also attempt to increase their passing grade for some specific courses in the Credit Upgrade Program Online. Contact your UCDSB guidance teacher for more information. Full information about the program can be found here.


Credit Recovery Program


 
Student in Grades 9-12 can participate in obtaining a credit in a course they were previously unsuccessful in during the last two years through the Credit Recovery Program. Contact your UCDSB guidance teacher for more information.  Full information about the program can be found here.

Summer Co-Op


This program is pending on recommendations from public health. We will update this page when we have more information. Full information about the program can be found here.

Summer Semester Cadet Co-Op 

Cadet Co-op starts on July 5.  Registration is now closed.

This program is run in conjunction with the regional Cadet organization. Students who are also cadets can earn diploma credits over the summer.  Full information about the program can be found here.
