Emergency Child Care Centres to Open in Four UCDSB Schools

In an effort to support health care and essential service workers in our communities during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Upper Canada District School Board has been able to respond positively to requests from municipalities to open four emergency child care centres within our school district.

UCDSB Compiles Learn at Home Resources

The Ontario Ministry of Education has launched its Learn at Home portal, a supplementary resource for elementary and secondary students to practice math and literacy skills, and learn at home during the ministry-directed school closure period from March 14, 2020 until April 5, 2020.

Coronavirus Update
School closures due to COVID-19 starting March 14
Around 4 p.m. on March 12, 2020, the provincial Government announced that all Ontario schools will be closed from Saturday, March 14, 2020, reopening on Monday, April 6, 2020. During this time, all Child Care and EarlyON Centres located in UCDSB schools will also be closed and community use activities in our schools will be cancelled. All UCDSB schools are open tomorrow (Friday, March 13) and transportation will be running. We are working to get answers to many of the unknowns and will inform parents/guardians, students and staff in the coming days.
