Nationview PS Hosts Ultimate Chicken Tournament, Showcasing Spirit of All-In Sports

March 27, 2026 (North Dundas, ON) – The gym at Nationview Public School was filled with energy, teamwork, and school spirit on Thursday, March 26 as students took part in a unique and exciting event—an Ultimate Chicken Tournament.
Nationview’s eight intramural teams welcomed eight intramural teams from Winchester Public School for a friendly competition and a day focused on fun and movement.
Ultimate Chicken, a creative twist on traditional field games, challenges teams to move a rubber chicken across the playing area and into the opposing team’s end zone. Similar in style to Ultimate Frisbee, the game emphasizes strategy, communication and teamwork—skills that extend far beyond the gym.
The tournament reflects the spirit and goals of the Upper Canada District School Board’s All-In Sports initiative. The initiative was designed to expand access to sports and physical activity for students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 by reducing barriers and increasing opportunities to participate.
Through All-In Sports, schools across the district have been encouraged to host more local games and tournaments, allowing students to engage in both traditional and non-traditional activities. Events like the Ultimate Chicken Tournament highlight how schools are embracing new and creative ways to get students active and involved in sports.
All-In Sports complements existing intramural programming rather than replacing it, giving schools like Nationview the flexibility to continue offering innovative activities while expanding access to broader competition.
