
March 24, 2025 - Curtis Jordan recently informed Upper Canada District School Board Trustees that he is stepping down from his role as Trustee to accept a position elsewhere.
Jordan was elected in the Stormont-Glengarry area in 2022.
During a Special Board Meeting on March 20, 2025, the Board of Trustees voted unanimously in favour of accepting the resignation and proceeding with an appointment process to fill the now vacant seat.
As per the Education Act, the appointment must be completed within 90 days. The Board of Trustees will receive applications from eligible individuals for this position until 4:00 p.m. on April 28, 2025
Those interested in applying for this position can do so by providing the following information to Ron Ferguson, Director of Education and Secretary to the Board, at [email protected]:
- a) a resumé or summary, including past accomplishments and community involvement and related experience;
- b) a letter of intent outlining the reasons why you wish to serve on the Board and how you feel you can contribute to its overall effectiveness. The applications will be available for review by the public, if requested; and
- c) three references from the community.
All applications will be reviewed, and a short-list of candidates will be created. Selected candidates will be interviewed in public session during the Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
The successful applicant will be sworn in at the Wednesday, May 14 Board Meeting and will serve until the end of the current term, which is November 14, 2026.
