2021-22 Director's Annual Report

November 17, 2022 – At the inaugural Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) meeting of the 2022-2026 Board of Trustees, Director Ron Ferguson presented the 2021-2022 Director’s Annual Report.

The 34-page report meets an annual Ministry of Education requirement and is an opportunity to highlight how the school board has progressed with its strategic goals and reflect on the past year.

The four main sections of the report – Graduation Rate/Student Success, Student Culture, Community and Staff Culture – are taken from the priorities and goals from the 2021-2022 Director’s Work Plan, which are identified as areas of focus by UCDSB trustees. Concrete data and news stories show the board’s progression toward the goals.

The report tells the story of hard work, dedication and success of our staff and students,” says Ferguson. “It is an opportunity to show our community all that we have accomplished over the last school year, and to highlight our schools, staff and students.”

Some examples of stories in the report include the Mobile Skills Training Lab collaboration with St. Lawrence College (page 8), expanding Indigenous cultural experiences at our Cornwall schools (page 10), the creation of a student-led equity and inclusion sub-committee (page 14) and awards received by UCDSB staff (page 22), and more.

“I am always excited to read through the pages of the Director’s Annual Report at this time of year,” says UCDSB Chair John McAllister. “I am so proud of the hard work we have done as a board to progress on our goals and priorities.”
