UCDSB Director’s Annual Report Highlights School District Success and Progress for the 2019-2020 Academic Year

December 2, 2020 (Brockville, ON) – Showcasing staff commitment, student learning experiences and strategic plan initiatives, the Upper Canada District School Board’s Annual Director’s Report has been released.
Each year, the UCDSB produces the Director’s Annual Report, which highlights the past academic year’s progress, including its strategic plan implementation. The report is an annual Ministry of Education requirement; however, UCDSB Director of Education Stephen Sliwa takes this opportunity to fully demonstrate the school board’s many achievements, thanks to our schools, staff and students.
The report outlines the school district’s progress and success using the four key areas of the UCDSB’s Strategic Plan: Collaboration, Resources, Educational programs and Wellness (CREW). The Board of Trustees identifies the CREW concept as critical success factors that influence learning, the student school experience, the school programming relevancy, as well as demonstrate a commitment to improving staff and student wellness.
The annual report reflects on the past academic year’s achievements, challenges and progress as well as the unprecedented pandemic.
“Although the 2019-2020 school year was one of the most unique and challenging years that public education has ever experienced, our staff and students had many achievements. I am very proud of all the success our school district had last year, the dedication our staff showed to the continuation of learning and the perseverance of our students to continue with their studies, even during the provincially mandated school closures due to COVID-19,” says Stephen Sliwa, Director of Education. “We stayed true to our Strategic Plan and the pillars of CREW. Our school district took part in immense collaboration with our community and resource development, noteworthy advancements in educational programming and many wellness initiatives across our organization.”
This year’s annual report provides numerous examples showcasing the above-mentioned factors, confirming the Board’s commitment to preparing all students for a successful life.
