UCDSB Update

As you have likely heard, on Thursday, May 13, the provincial governmentextended the stay-at-home order until at least June 2, 2021.

In addition, the province outlined that all publicly funded and private elementary and secondary schools in the province will continue to operate under teacher-led remote learning. The province is assessing data on an ongoing basis and medical experts, including the Chief Medical Officer of Health, will be consulted to determine when it may be safe to resume in-person learning.

Recognizing that the news of an extended stay-at-home order and continued remote learning may be difficult for some families and students, we want you to be aware of the many community mental health and well-being resources available to you and your family members.

This school year has been about balancing our students’ academic needs and the obligation to keep them, and our staff, safe while at school. We’re proud of our students, staff and families for their continued dedication to remote learningThe work being done now is setting your child up for future success.

Should you want your child to access further online learning resources, please be aware of some provincial resources that are available:

Thank you for your patience during these ever-changing times. As we get more information, we will update our families. As always, if you have any questions related to your child’s programming, please contact your school principal or teacher directly.
Be well,

Valerie Allen
