The Tagwi admin team demonstrates individualized care by championing student-focused programming through a wide range of interventions and supports. As well, they make everyone feel recognized and valued by maintaining an "open-for-discussion" policy with staff, students and families.
Above and Beyond
From sourcing and installing outdoor classes to connecting staff to 'just in time' learning opportunities amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, this team is always looking for creative solutions to help teacher manage their workload and improve the student experience, especially during times of uncertainty.
Recognized and Valued
Through calm and steady leadership, Ewen, Laurie and Crystal prioritize student learning while ensuring teachers and support staff feel valued in the work; they encourage staff self-care and keep wellness- both amongst students and staff- at the forefront.
Collaboration and Communication
The trio demonstrates collaboration and communication by actively problem solving with staff, especially in cases
where students struggle. Staff feel their professional opinion is respected and the team asks for staff input when deciding the next steps for a student.
Action Start to Finish
The team follows through with ensuring student supports are working, and lead adjustments when necessary. This follow through leads to a high degree of relational trust and students frequently and comfortably turn to them for support.
