November 18, 2024 (Brockville, ON) – Students from Brockville Collegiate Institute talked to Global News Kingston about their recent excursion to Europe to visit WWI sites.
A total of 16 students from around the UCDSB took part in the unique, hands-on learning experience in October as part of the We Were Here Project, to understand the impact of war and Canada’s role on the global stage through the eyes of soldiers who lived it.
The group visited France and Belgium between October 11 to October 20, visiting the Canadian National Vimmy Memorial, the Brooding Soldier, and Langemark, a German First World War cemetery.
