Cases of COVID-19 in UCDSB Schools - April 7
Posted on 04/06/2021

Parents/guardians, staff and students at the following schools received notification within the last 24 hours that at least one individual at their school has tested positive for COVID-19.

  • Kemptville Public School
  • Bridgewood Public School (Cornwall)

The Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) and the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit have confirmed that in both of these cases, the individuals were not at school while infectious, so there was no exposure within the school environment.

Kemptville PS remains open and operating on its regular daily schedule. Bridgewood PS transitioned to remote learning as of today, Wednesday, April 7, due to staffing issues related to the pandemic.

The health units encourage everyone to continue with public health recommendations to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and monitor for symptoms carefully.

The health units and the school board do not release specific details about a COVID-19 case in a school directly to the public. You can find more information about COVID-19 cases in our schools on our COVID-19 Advisory Information page, or on the Government of Ontario website.

Schools report confirmed COVID-19 cases to the provincial government and it is tracked on the provincial website. It can take up to 24 to 48 hours for the information to be posted, based on the timing of reporting.
