April 3, 2020 (Brockville, ON) - The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) is accepting nominations for the 2020 UCDSB Trustee Innovation Awards.
The awards recognize deserving UCDSB employees for work practices that make the school board and its schools more modern and innovative. The awards are designed to inspire others to find new ways to better serve our school communities and move our students forward.
To be considered for an award, an employee must demonstrate creativity and innovation in devising a technique, tool or other resource that has increased student or peer achievement.
Nominations will be accepted from UCDSB employees, students and members of UCDSB parent councils.
Awards will be presented in six categories: Support Staff; Elementary Teacher; Secondary Teacher; Facilities/School and System; Administration and Managers, and Team/Group.
Past winners have included: an art teacher who devised an interactive comic book project for her students; a teacher who created a unique learning environment at her school using modern technology and project-based learning; and a science teacher who turned his classroom into a physics and chemistry playground.
The deadline for nominations has been extended until June 3, 2020. Learn more by reading our Trustee Innovation Award FAQ.
