 Truth and Reconciliation Commission +2 Gathering in Cornwall

May 5, 2017 (Cornwall, ON) – The Upper Canada District School Board is hosting a special Indigenous gathering May 11th, 2017 as part of efforts to discuss reconciliation and provide opportunities for learning, openness and conversations.

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission +2 Gathering – Reflection and Renewal event for the eastern portion of our Board will take place at Bridgewood Public School in Cornwall. Our goal is to renew our commitment to the process of reconciliation as envisioned by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. The event will feature a Thanksgiving Address, remarks by Director of Education Stephen Sliwa and other dignitaries, an Alligator Dance, a Duck Dance, a Unity Stomp Dance, an Orange Shirt Garden, a presentation of a Bentwood Box and a Round Dance.
