Upper Canada District School Board to Host
2017 Harmony Movement Social Changemakers Conference
February 14, 2017 (Kemptville, ON) – The Upper Canada District School Board is pleased to host the 2017 Harmony Movement Social Changemakers Conference on Tuesday, February 28th, 2017. This annual event is organized by Harmony Movement, and hosted by the Upper Canada District School Board, the Ottawa Region Equity and Inclusive Education Implementation Network, and the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario (CDSBEO).
The purpose of the day is for UCDSB and CDSBEO students in Grades 7-10 to come together to discover their leadership voice and become social “changemakers.” The day-long conference will explore global issues of well-being, belonging, and equity and diversity. It will afford students the opportunity to discuss these issues and plan how to translate them into action at their schools. Past conferences have resulted in the formation of Equity and Social Justice clubs at area schools, and the launch of student anti-poverty initiatives.
Details of the conference are as follows:
9:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 28th, 2017
North Grenville Municipal Centre
285 County Road 44
