The UCDSB Champions for Kids Foundation Presents “March Breakdown” Live Music Event
(Brockville) – The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) Champions for Kids Foundation is hosting the inaugural March Breakdown, a live music event at the Keystorm Pub in Brockville on Friday, March 2 at 8:30 p.m.
"The March Breakdown is a fun evening of singing, jamming and dancing the night away to great live music - all UCDSB staff generated," says Ewen McIntosh, event chair and UCDSB program resource teacher.
“Beyond simply enjoying themselves in the audience, attendees have the option to sing or play along with the staff house band, or register a staff-based band, duo or solo performance,” says McIntosh. “We want as many people as possible to come and enjoy the show - friends, family and community members are all welcome."
"We've been working hard at covering tunes from all eras of rock, pop and country," says Derek Cole, vice-principal of North Dundas District High School and lead guitarist for the staff house band. “Whatever era you enjoy most we have definitely covered!"
The cost to perform or attend as a guest is only $10 each, with all proceeds going to Champions for Kids. Performers are required to register on-line at the following link: http://www.eventbrite.ca/event/2621763766. Guests can pay at the door.
“We're so pleased to be holding this event at the Keystorm Pub," says McIntosh. "The atmosphere is perfect for live music. While the event runs 8:30 - 11:30 p.m., we look forward to sharing great music well into the night.”
The UCDSB’s Champions for Kids Foundation is a charity formed in January 2008 to help level the playing field for children across eastern Ontario. It gives families a helping hand to meet their children’s medical needs and allow their kids to participate in sporting events, the arts, and other fun activities outside of school hours.
