Drummond Central School Wins 1st Place in Elementary Category in Perth Santa Claus Parade

(Perth) – Students and staff at Drummond Central School entered and won in the elementary category at the annual Perth Santa Claus Parade on December 3, 2011.
This is the fourth year the school has entered the parade. This year, the parade’s theme was Disney. Grades 6/7 teacher Cheryl Stark was instrumental in coordinating and directing the “on float” and behind the scenes activities, said Principal Margaret Fritz.
“Our theme was ‘Drummond Central – Making Dreams Come True,’” Fritz said. “Our students, under Mrs. Stark’s direction, performed a small dance on the float to the tune, “When You Wish Upon a Star,” performed by Meaghan Martin. In each corner of the float, pairs of children opened parcels from Santa.”
The school won first place in the elementary category.
