UCDSB Board of Trustees Holds January 25, 2012 Meeting

(Brockville) – The Board of Trustees of the Upper Canada District School Board met on January 25 and the following business was discussed:

1)     The Board was provided with a notice of motion to amend the Upper Canada District School Board by-laws. Proposed amendments will include: changes to provisions for electronic voting by members attending meetings by electronic means and changes to the way a vacancy for an Executive Officer position will be determined.

2)     The Board approved the report of the Committee of the Whole from the meeting on January 11, 2012. As part of that the Board reviewed and updated Policies 222 (Respectful Working and Learning Environment), 225 (Workplace Harassment) and 421 (Violence in the Workplace).

3)     The Board officially transferred all responsibilities for transportation services to the new Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario (STEO) transportation consortium, effective February 1, 2012.

4)     The Board received reports from Student Trustee Jacob Howe, the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association, and the Board’s Special Education Advisory Committee.
