No Classes for Grades 9-12 on January 15
No Classes for Grades 9-12 on January 15
Posted on 01/14/2020

This is a reminder that members of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation will hold a one-day strike on January 15 at some school boards across the province, including the Upper Canada District School Board.

Here’s how students will be impacted tomorrow.

  • There will be no classes, planned activities, co-op placements, dual-credit programs, or extracurriculars for students in Grades 9 to 12 on January 15. Classes will resume on January 16 as normal. There will also be no transportation for these students.

  • Regular classes and transportation for students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 WILL proceed as usual, even if students in Grade 7 and Grade 8 are in a secondary school.

  • There will be no classes or transportation for students in specialized programs in Grades 7-12, known as ABLE, SDP, Transitions or Foundations programs. These classes will resume on January 16 as normal.

  • Community use programs and child care operations that are run in our schools will not be impacted.

Should the situation change throughout the day today, we will update students and families via email, the UCDSB website and social media. However, at this time please do not send students in Grade 9 to Grade 12 to school on January 15 as there will be no classes or supervision for these students.

We want to thank our families for their patience during these uncertain times.

Thank you,
Communications & Relationship Management Department
