UCDSB Congratulates the Municipality of South Dundas for Provincial Economic Development Award

February 9,
2018 (Iroquois, ON) – The
Upper Canada District School Board extended its congratulations to the Municipality
of South Dundas for their
recent award from the Economic Development Council of Ontario (EDCO) in the
Public-Private Partnership Award (Population 10,000-50,000) category.
“This award stresses
the importance of public-private partnerships throughout Ontario. We are absolutely
thrilled that the Municipality of South Dundas was able to showcase this
important partnership between South Dundas, Ross Video, Code Heroes, and the
Upper Canada District School Board,” said Chair Jeff McMillan. “When we were
approached with this renewed and enhanced partnership opportunity to provide
additional support to our schools in the Iroquois and Morrisburg areas that
built upon our existing technology programs and resources, we were excited to
take part for the benefit of UCDSB students.”
During the
announcement of this partnership in September 2017, David Ross of Ross Video
and South Dundas Mayor Evonne Delegarde stressed the importance of students’
participation in these important programs. They expressed pride that the
donations and partnerships would be an additional asset to an already strong
Code Heroes program in schools located within Iroquois and Morrisburg.
These
enhancements further the Upper Canada District School Board’s innovative
technology upgrades throughout the district including the Bring Your Own Device
Program, staff and student WiFi capabilities, and technology programs
throughout the Board.
