COVID-19 Advisory Information
During the remote learning period, cases of COVID-19 will only be reported to the Ministry of Education and tracked here for those physically working and learning in schools. The Ministry will resume reporting on Ontario.ca for schools in southern Ontario when full in-person learning resumes on January 26, 2021.
The Ministry of Education recognizes that parents, students and staff have an interest in knowing when a lab-confirmed positive COVID-19 case has been identified in their school.
The UCDSB works in collaboration with both the Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit and the Eastern Ontario Health Unit to ensure that schools are operating safely.
In the event of a positive COVID-19 case within UCDSB schools, the local public health will conduct an investigation and parents/guardians and staff will be contacted if they are identified as a high-risk or low-risk contact. Public health authorities also will determine if an outbreak exists and provide direction on outbreak control measures to implement.
An outbreak in a school is defined as two or more lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in students and/or staff in a school with an epidemiological link, within a 14-day period, where at least one case could have reasonably acquired their infection in the school (including transportation and before or after school care).
Visit Operational guidance: COVID-19 Management in Schools for more details.
Visit COVID-19 Cases in Schools and Child Care Centres for provincial data. Please note that the provincial data may take 24 to 48 hours to be updated, depending on the timing of the reported case(s).
