VCI'S First Annual Basketball Tournament

On Friday December 17th and Saturday, December 18th, VCI hosted their first annual senior boys basketball tournament in their new school. Seven teams entered the tournament . The tournament was victorious for the VCI squad. They met Rockland District High School in the opening game to a capacity crowd as students were invited to cheer on their Warriors. The game was exciting and VCI ended up winning 51 to 42 . They then met Rothwell Osnabruck and their winning streak continued. With a final score of 47 to 28 . Saturday mornings match up was no disappointment as they fought a hard win against St. Francis Xavier 43 to 26 .

In the final championship VCI played against CCVS for the championship. Hubert Worsfold provided the team with tough defence while Parker MacDonald provided the team with strong point guard leadership. Josh Hoogsteen and Lucas Toews showed whose house they were in with strong offence in the key. After double overtime VCI was victorious with a 51 - 45 win, crowning them the champs! All team members played extremely all contributing well to a successful weekend.
