Multiple Choice Questions

·           Read and re-read each questions carefully.

·           Go back to the text and look for key words.

·           Choose the most correct answer.

·           Make sure you answer each question. Never leave a question blank!

 

Short Answer Questions

·           Always write legibly using complete sentences.

·           Use most of the lines provided.

·           Use examples from the text to support your answer.

·           When you must summarize, state the main idea and one or two relevant points to support it.

 

News Report

·          You are given a title and a picture.

·          Imagine a story you would write in the newspaper. You are the reporter. Remember, you are a reporter. Your job is to report the facts.

·          Make sure you answer the 5W’s and how (Who, What, Where, When, Why).

·          Make sure you separate your News Report into small paragraphs. Write 7-10 little paragraphs of 1-2 sentences each.

·          Make it interesting and give us details.

·          2-3 quotes: Robert said: “I thought it was a good idea to buy a bridge!”

Opinion Piece

·           Make sure you split your opinion piece into paragraphs with indentations.

·           State your opinion clearly - choose one side only (I agree or disagree with the statement).

·           Make sure you include and introduction and a conclusion.
