Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute School Council

is hosting, for parents, students, staff and the community,

a "Parent Engagement Evening" on

February 7th from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the VCI Library

James Thomas will speak on how to... 

1. Understand suicide, how to recognize the signs if someone is struggling and steps to take in order to prevent it from happening.
    
2. Allow people to gain a new understanding of mental illness, where it comes from and how it can be prevented and/or overcome.
    
3. Inspire people to not only monitor but optimize their mental health so they can live life to the fullest and make a positive impact on everyone around.
    
4. Follow their hearts and be proud who they are because eventually everything will come together for them to realize everything they thought was wrong with them, is what allows them to bring something unique to this world that no one else brings.
