Successful Destination Program (SDP)

The TR Leger School operates on Successful Destination Program in the Upper Canada District School Board, located in Cornwall.

The Education Amendment Act (Progressive Discipline and School Safety 2007), stipulates that any student who has been expelled from all schools of the Upper Canada District School Board must attend the Successful Destinations Program before re-entering a school in the publicly funded system.

The goal of the program is to motivate students to understand the consequences of their negative behaviour, and to eliminate these behaviours before being recommended for integration into mainstream school.

The benefits of Successful Destination Program are:
· students will focus on accountability and self discipline
· a low student-teacher ration will ensure that students get the individual help needed
· an on site social worker will assist with student’s behavioural needs
· a qualified teacher to ensure that academic progress is made
· access to local agencies and counselling services
· strict supervision to ensure the safety and well being of all students
