Reinvesting in Soft Skills and Knowledge (RISSK)
The RISSK program is a full time program for clients who are out of school and out of work, and have multiple barriers in finding and maintaining employment.
The program is funded by HRDC and the target group are clients who are receiving Employment Insurance or are in receipt of Ontario Works benefits.
The RISSK program lasts for 3 weeks and provides clients with methods and techniques of analyzing the barriers to employment, and coming up with personal solutions to achieving success. Students are challenged to make real life choices and to weigh possible outcomes. Students have access to computers to produce resumes, letters and employment portfolios - all of which will showcase student skills, abilities and accomplishments.
Topics include: · Effective communication (at work and in life) · Getting a job · Choosing a career · Volunteering · Time management · Managing conflict in your life · Motivational skills · And so much more ...
