Evaluation and Reporting of Student Achievement
Student Achievement
REPORTING STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Student achievement will be communicated formally to students and parents by means of a Report Card. The report card provides a record, in the form of a percentage grade, of the student’s achievement of the curriculum expectations. It also includes teachers’ comments on the student’s strengths and the areas in which improvement is needed and suggestions for achievement. The report card contains separate sections for recording attendance and for evaluating the student’s learning skills in each course.
COURSE EVALUATION
Course evaluation may include presentations, projects, assignments and formal examinations. The TR Leger School evaluation policy states that:
courses may have a midterm test and will have a final evaluation which students will be required to complete;
final marks will be calculated according to the following procedure:
All courses both full and half-credit
Course content = 70%
Midterm and final evaluation = 30%
lessons and evaluations become the property of TR Leger School and will be kept on file for a year.
students doing home study / correspondence courses must pass the final evaluation to be granted the credit.
students who wish to appeal their mark in a course must do so within 30 days of receiving their final mark
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that he or she has completed the necessary requirements for a diploma. Please advise your counselor or teacher as soon as these requirements have been completed.
