Exam Information - January 2012

An Exam Message to All Students

Meaningful participation in all Final Assessment Tasks administered during the Examination Period of January 26 to February 1 is compulsory for all students.

Any student who fails to attend and meaningfully participate in a Final Assessment Task administered during the above period will receive a “NM” on the course (regardless of the student’s mark) and the credit will be withheld by the Principal.

A medical certificate will be required from any student who is unable to write the Final Assessment Task due to an illness.  In cases of illness or extreme emergency, you will be required to perform the Assessment Task at a later date.

All Final Assessment Tasks administered during the above stated period will commence daily at 8:15 a.m. and at 11:30 am.

Grades 9 and 10 exams will be no more than 1.5 hours.  Grades 11 and 12 exams will be no more than 2 hours.  All students must remain in the examination room for at least 1 hour.

When you are finished the exam, all students are expected to stay out of the halls so that a quiet atmosphere is maintained for all those students who may still be writing an exam.  The cafeteria will be open for student use.

The following is the schedule for the Final Assessment Tasks:

If an examination day is cancelled due to bus cancellations, the exams that were to be held will be rescheduled to February 1 and the remaining exams will be held on their originally scheduled days.

Students who do not have a scheduled Final Assessment Task on any day during the examination period are not expected to attend school on that day.

Check with your subject teacher to see which materials may be taken into and utilized in the examination room (ie. Graphing calculators, iPods, formula reference sheets, wifi devices..)
