What is Student Services?

The Student Services Department is an integrated department combining guidance counsellors, consulting resource teachers, child and youth workers and teaching assistants. Our staff offers services to students in our feeder schools prior to their entry to high school, throughout their stay at South Grenville and even after they leave high school. In individual counselling sessions or in groups, students are assisted by counsellors in:

- adjusting to school life and regulations

- understanding themselves and others

- dealing with personal crisis situations

- examining school progress

- making course selection decisions

- clarifying educational options

- finalizing post secondary educational plans.

Consulting resource teachers assist exceptional students and their teachers in modifying program to meet the needs of these students. Please make the best use of these facilities and the staff involved in Student Services.
