Swim to Survive Program for Grade 3 students

On November 3, 10 and 17 the Gr.3 students from Rideau Vista are travelling to Brockville to the YMCA to take part in the “Swim to Survive” program. Because of the partnerships between Canadian Tire Jumpstart and Brockville and Area YMCA it is a free and valuable program that all students in Gr.3 can have access to.

The “Swim to Survive” program teaches the students 3 basic skills: roll into deep water, tread water for one minute and swim 50 metres.

It has been a fun adventure for our class so far and we are looking forward to returning this Thursday!
