Rideau Vista Fun Run

…walkers welcome!

On october 15th, close to 100 students, teachers, parents and community members participated in our first annual Rideau Vista Fun Run at Foley Mountain Conservation Area. The event raised close to $2600 that will be put towards this year fitness initiative at the school for the students. We firmly believe the motto, 'Fitness Found Early Means Fitness for Life!" Making kids aware of daily fitness and how important it is in their life was our main goal.  The event attracted 60 5km runners and 25 1km runners.  The fitness message was loud and clear on the mountain as families and friends  cheered on their loved ones and enjoyed an afternoon in the park.  Congratulations to Maureen Younge who was the events top fundraiser, receiving a COVE gift certificate and a 1 year pass to Foley Mountain Conservation Area. 

The top ten runners were: Scott Raison, Gerrett Doreleyers, Ben Bronsema, Ian Sly, Courtney Thompson-Halladay, Lynsey McCulloch, Chelsea Wood, Brooke Currie, Nora Bright and Jeff Seed.  For full results go to http://www.runningbydesign.ca
