Lockers and Locks: Every student will have their own assigned locker. Students are not allowed to share lockers and must use their assigned locker. Locks are provided by the school. If the lock is lost or stolen, it is the student’s responsibility to purchase the replacement lock from the school at a cost of six dollars.

Cafeteria Services: A cafeteria menu is offered to students each day at North Dundas.  Prices are reasonable.

Students (with parental guidance) can decide whether to use this daily service or not.

School Supplies: Notebooks and textbooks will be supplied by the school.  Each student is asked to supply his/her own binder(s), lined paper, pens, pencils, colored pencils, math set, and calculator.  Students will be requested to purchase a “North Dundas Student Planner” in early September. This planner will be used daily to record homework and assignments and as a communication tool for teachers and parents.  It is also used in teaching organizational and time management skills. Cost of this planner is $10.00 per book.

Gym Clothing: In an attempt to keep school costs down, we do not insist on identical gym uniforms.  However, all students are expected to wear running shoes (without cleat-like or black soles, which will mark the floors), suitable t-shirts, shorts, or track suits.  No jeans, please!

Extracurricular Activities: All students are encouraged to get involved in clubs, teams and activities.  Most practices take place at lunch break; however, some are scheduled after school and require a permission slip signed by parents.

Discipline: North Dundas staff is committed to making school a positive experience for all students.  Students are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful, cooperative and safe manner and to take their responsibilities seriously.  Students are accountable for their words and actions.  The Ministry of Education has passed into law the Safe Schools Act and this, in combination with the Upper Canada District School Board policies, form the basis of our code of behavior.  As at many schools in Ontario, we at North Dundas are continuing to focus on the prevention of bullying.  Cases of bullying will be addressed and dealt with seriously. The Administrator and the staff of North Dundas extend an invitation to each of you to do your best, have fun, and come prepared to learn and contribute.  We will do our best to ensure a successful two years with us and look forward to helping you achieve your goals.
