Welcome to Gananoque Intermediate & Secondary School, “Home of the Trojans!” where staff are proudly committed to the success of all our students and all means all.

Gananoque Intermediate and Secondary School is a school of 500 students in grades 7 through 12 ocated in the heart of the Thousand Islands.  The secondary school has been here for over 50 years and boasts a rich tradition of both academic and athletic excellence along with a strong connection with the community.  In 2011 the Intermediate Division was added to the school enhancing the atmosphere and enriching the school experience for all the students on their journey to a high school diploma.

The academic program at GSS promotes high standards in an atmosphere of rigorous care. We are able to provide courses in each of the pathways to support successful transitions to the world of work, apprenticeship programs, college or university.

In addition to our standard academic programs, we are proud to offer two Specialist High Skills Major programs; ‘Hospitality and Tourism’ and our new ‘Sport and Healthy Active Living’. We have introduced a new Link Crew Program for senior students to provide mentoring to all our grade 9’s while learning valuable leadership skills. This year we have added the WEB ("Where Everybody Belongs") program for our grade 7's. They will receive this added level of support and mentoring from their trained grade 8 peers.

We are also proud to provide over $30000 in bursaries and scholarships each year at graduation. We have many grads in all sectors and many post-secondary institutions across eastern Ontario and the country who proudly call themselves Trojans forever!

In addition, we have a dynamic and innovative Intermediate Division for our grade 7 & 8 students.  While separated in their own area of the school upstairs and on a separate bell schedule, the intermediate students benefit from having access to all that the secondary school has to offer in terms of facilities.

We have three large computer labs, a Mac lab, and full wireless coverage. We have two dedicated fitness rooms with over $25000 worth of equipment along with a large multi-purpose break-out room. We also have a full commercial kitchen for our hospitality program. Our school building is spacious, safe, welcoming and well-maintained.
