Remembrance Day 2017

Thanksgiving has come and gone, and now we can focus on what we might be truly thankful for – Our Freedom.  Fostering Remembrance is a part of everything the Royal Canadian Legion does across Canada.

It’s time for the Royal Canadian Legion’s Annual Poster and Literary Contest! Almonte Branch 240 invites all school children to honour Canada’s Veterans through creative art and writing, and help perpetuate Remembrance. The deadline for submissions is 4:00 on Nov. 2, and entries can be dropped off at the Legion or will be picked up at local schools. More information can be found at http://legion.ca/communities-youth/youth-education/remembrance-contests  All entries must have a signed entry (application) form attached.

And, just a note to say that the Senior prizes often go unawarded with no entries.  Maybe we can change that this year!
