January 2021 Tech Survey

As students and families prepare for the provincially-mandated period of remote learning, which starts on January 4, we want to assess the technology needs of our students who were enrolled in-person learning at their local school prior to the winter holiday break.

The Upper Canada District School Board has a limited number of devices and internet hotspots that can be loaned to support students during this period of remote learning.

If your child was enrolled in in-person learning as of December 18, 2020 and they do not have a device to participate in remote online learning or adequate internet, please complete the Technology Survey for UCDSB Families with In-Person Learners by Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. Please fill out a survey for each child that would benefit from a device.

If you are not able to fill out the survey online, call 613-342-0435 (or toll free 1-888-593-5556) and press 5 to leave call back information so that we can contact you to determine your specific needs.

Please note that filling out the survey does not guarantee that your child will receive a device, as need may surpass the number of devices available. As well, priority will be given to Grade 12 students, those taking Grade 12 classes and those with special education needs. Devices will need to be returned once in-person learning resumes.

Students who were enrolled in other learning options as of December 18, 2020 (synchronous digital, asynchronous digital, and asynchronous non-digital) will continue to access learning materials in the same manner prior to the provincial school closure, so no response is needed from those students or families.
