January 30, 2019 (Avonmore, ON) - Thousand Islands Secondary School (TISS) won the 2019 Upper Canada Cup Intermediate Girls’ Volleyball Championship, held Tuesday, January 29 in Avonmore at Tagwi Secondary School.

TISS defeated Perth and District Collegiate Institute (PDCI) in two straight sets 25-18 and 25-14 to win the final.

“Winning was the product of serving well, passing well and setting up our hitters well,” said TISS Coach Joe Wilson of his team’s success. “Also, we had 12 selfless players who played their hearts out for each other. It was truly a team effort.”

TISS defeated Rideau District High School in the semis to advance to the final, while PDCI beat Seaway District High School.
