Recognition and Awards in the UCDSB
The Upper Canada DSB is proud to have exceptional employees, students and volunteers in our board. To recognize those who go above and beyond in their support of our schools and students, we have a variety of awards available.
Service Excellence Award:
Do you know an employee who provides excellent service to students, parents, community partners and other staff? You can nominate them for a Service Excellence Award at this link. You can also learn more about the criteria at this link.
Please note that nominations are now closed for this year's recognition, however you can make a submission that will be considered for recognition in the Spring of 2018. If you prefer to put forth your staff member's name for other UCDSB Awards for recognition in the current year, they are listed on this page.
Trustee Innovation Award:
Many employees come up with unique and innovative ideas which result in a better process, specialized learning opportunities, improved classroom/workspace and more! The Trustee Innovation Award recognizes excellence and innovation - those who inspire others to 'think outside the box' - finding new ways to better serve our system and our students.
Nominations for this award are open until May 30, 2017 - learn more at this link or downloads the nomination form.
Volunteer of the Year Awards:
Volunteers make our schools a better place for kids! While schools regularly recognize their own volunteers, the board also recognizes volunteers for their years of service, with pins and certificates for those who have given 5, 10, 15 or 20+ years of volunteering in our schools. This service is accumulated, and the totals move with volunteers from school to school.
The board also offers the opportunity for you to nominate that extra-special volunteer who consistently goes above and beyond for the students, staff and community, with the UCDSB Volunteer of the Year Award. Nominations are open until Friday, April 28, 2017, and can be submitted at this link.

Director's Award of Merit:
This award seeks to recognize employees who bring the “best” of themselves to the workplace on a regular basis throughout the year, contributing to a positive, productive, and caring workplace in which employees support each other to achieve important goals for serving and supporting our students, our schools, and school district. Through their efforts and actions, these employees inspire students and colleagues alike, by demonstrating the spirit of the UCDSB’s Mission, Vision, and Values in their daily work. Nominations are open until Friday, November 3, 2017 and can be submitted at this link.
Winners will be announced at the Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, November 22, 2017.
