In 1990, the ADHS Hall of Distinction was established as a project of the Athens Alumni during Athens centennial year to honour former ADHS students who have made a significant contribution to society. Each honouree is presented with a framed photograph and description of their contributions, which is later displayed in the foyer of the school. At our 2009 commencement ceremony Eleanor Newman was honoured with this distinction. She is shown below, accepting the award.
