(Chesterville) – The students, staff and parent council of Chesterville Public School welcomed students transferring from Morewood Public School and Elma Public School on June 10 for a day of fun in the sun. This is the second time this year students have had the opportunity to meet and play with new friends at the school.
Students enjoyed a picnic lunch in the gymnasium and then formed into groups to take part in a variety of outdoor activity stations. These activity stations included parachute games, sand castle building, card making, a soccer clinic, a construction junction, a tattoo/graffiti and water station, and a scoops and balls game. Following the stations, students enjoyed smoothies prepared by parent council members and supported by the school’s Healthy Eating for Better Learning program. The day ended with a full recess and soccer game.
“The day was very successful and it provided students and staff with a vision of the positive, exciting, engaging year we will have when we start up in September,” said Principal Debbie Banks.
Chesterville PS students who will be in grade 7 next year had their Orientation Day at Maple Ridge Public School on the same day.
