(Brockville) - Starting this month, information on busing for the upcoming school year will be just a click away.
Once again, the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) is offering a helpful Transportation Web site allowing parents to log on and discover everything from their children’s pickup location to the name of the contractor serving their area, said Ron Cotnam, transportation manager. Parents can access updated information on the site starting August 17.
“The weeks leading up to school are busy ones for parents and we want to make it easier for them by placing the busing information they need at their fingertips,” said Cotnam on Wednesday.
Parents can access the site by logging on to the Board’s Web site at www.ucdsb.on.ca and clicking on the Transportation and Bus Cancellations icon found on the right-hand side of the screen. They can also log on directly at www.ucdsb.on.ca/transportation.
To use the site, parents simply click on the “Bus Stop Info” button and fill in the required information to access their child’s route number, pickup location, contractor name and phone number. If they want to verify busing information prior to school startup then they can use this information to contact the bus contractor to confirm their child’s pickup time.
The department site also offers information on Walk/Busing Information, Contractor Information, Bell Times, Frequently Asked Questions and a section called Links which provides people with links to other interesting transportation sites.
The UCDSB Transportation Department will also make it easier for parents to check on their children’s transportation information by maintaining a special Busing Hotline at 1-866-286-7521, from August 17 until September 30.
